The Ask
Lakeshore Learning approached FGPG to create a new booth for their largest annual event, the NAEYC Annual Conference & Expo. This show is one of the world’s premier gatherings for early childhood education professionals, including classroom teachers, administrators, center directors, and mentors who shape and support the field.
Lakeshore challenged us to create a versatile, modular booth system that could scale seamlessly between large and small configurations for future use. For its debut at NAEYC, Lakeshore wanted the booth to deliver a bold first impression while also serving as a real-world test of its modular design and functionality.
Solution
FGPG partnered closely with the Lakeshore design team to develop a lightweight, modular booth system that could adapt to various configurations, including 50’ x 50’, 20’ x 30’, and 10’ x 10’ footprints. By collaborating with the fabrication team, FGPG engineered an innovative extrusion frame system combined with fabric elements to reduce overall weight while maintaining durability and visual impact. The result was a flexible, modular design that balanced practicality with creativity, ensuring easy assembly, efficient transport, and a cohesive brand presence across different booth sizes.
Results
Lakeshore achieved outstanding success at NAEYC 2024, marking it their most significant and impactful presence to date. Their booth stood out on the show floor as a design highlight, drawing attention and praise for its thoughtful, modular layout and engaging features. The collaboration with country musician Coy Bowles added a dynamic, crowd-pleasing element that elevated the experience for attendees. The Lakeshore team was thrilled with their new booth, which not only captured their vision for the event but also demonstrated the system’s versatility for future use in both larger and smaller configurations.
